What is your backup process?
Nightly website data is backed up and verified for data consistency and integrity across all of our servers, including database, email and web stats servers.Every Monday through Friday morning, that data is then backed up to a daily tape ensuring that at any one time there is an available backup set for every day of the week.Backups are archived and kept for 7 days. Backup tapes are rotated through the week day also ensuring that a backup set is available in a location other than the servers.Backing up to our dedicated file storage server allows for quick data recovery in the event that your data is needed to be recovered.

What data is backed up?
All website files and folders are backed up, as well as all database data and the last 7 days of database backups. Website log files are backed up as part of the scheduled web server backup process as well as web stat reports and email data and messages.System state and server configuration data is backed up on a monthly basis in the event that a full system restore is required.

How often are backups performed?
NovaHost performs nightly backups of data to a dedicated file storage server. Backups are performed at approximately midnight every night. In addition, the backup data file are then backed up to a second tier external tape device every morning.Customers can also request separate backups in the event of major website updates for an additional nominal fee.We can also provide a backup of your website data on DVD or CD, depending on the size of the website.
